A Light That Never Dies

The night, the street, the lamp, the chemist shop.
The light glows pale, the light glows dim, but still the light goes on.
Live another hundred years, a hundred score and ten,
The light, the street, the chemist shop,
And still the light goes on.

And the hooker on the corner, sleep still in my hair.
And the sweeper at the roadside, brushing at my cares.
And the twenty four hour check out guy, sleep still in my eyes.
And the chemist at the counter, with the light that never dies.

Begin again each morning, you know the words by now.
The night, the street, the chemist shop,
Willingly hypnotize.
Begin again each morning, you know the words by now.
A night, the street, the chemist shop,
A light that never dies.
